Registration Guidelines & Policies:

  • Enrollment will be subject to availability. If space is available, we will send you confirmation by email of course enrolment and reservation for indoor lodging if requested. If space is not available, we will put you on a waiting list.
  • All fees are due upon confirmation of registration. Cancellation more than three weeks prior to the course start date will receive a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. Cancellation three weeks or less prior to the course start date will not be eligible for a refund. If the course is cancelled for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
  • Registration deadline is 8 days prior to the course start date.

Pricing:

  • Course fee includes meals, but does not include accommodations. Pricing for accommodations is as listed below.
  • Cottage Accomodations: If you have signed up for cottage accommodations, you can look forward to staying in the beautiful and well-appointed buildings at Foxglove Farm. Please be aware that some of the rooms contain shared sleeping spaces, and all of the washroom facilities are shared. Two of the cottages contain kitchen facilities.Please feel free to bring extra snacks and drinks to supplement the meals that will be provided during your workshop. A space in our accommodations is available for $90 per night.
  • Tent Spaces: Foxglove Farm contains open grassy areas for tenting. Outhouse facilities and an outdoor shower will be available. Please bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and other personal items to ensure a comfortable sleep. Tent spaces are available for a fee of $35 per night.
  • Food: We consider meals to be an important part of your experience on Foxglove Farm; food is one of the fundamental ways in which you will interact with each other and the land. You will enjoy delicious catered meals, which will serve as gathering points for your workshop. Most of the ingredients will be sourced from the farm itself, and/or from other Salt Spring Island and local producers and will be organic whenever possible. Vegetarian options will be provided. Please feel free to bring any extra snacks or alcoholic beverages you may wish to enjoy.

Miscellaneous:

  • Phones are available for emergency purposes only. Cell phone coverage is unreliable at Foxglove Farm.
  • Please leave your pets at home in consideration of other students.
  • No smoking is allowed on Foxglove Farm.

To ensure your comfort, please make sure to bring:

  • Comfortable clothes suitable for the workshop activity
  • Layers for all kinds of weather (rain gear, warm clothing, sun hat, etc.)
  • Sturdy shoes for outdoor activities
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Alarm clock
  • Towel
  • Bathing suit
  • A comfortable cushion to sit on
  • Camera
  • Notebook or journal
  • Camping chair
  • Flashlight
  • Indoor slippers (all buildings have a no-shoes policy)
  • Any personal items you may require such as medication, etc.

Free time: While your workshop, meals, and getting to know other students and instructors will fill up much of your time on Foxglove Farm, there will also be opportunities to enjoy the surroundings. There is a pond on the farm that is available for swimming. There are also trails for walking and plenty of quiet spots to sit and relax, reflect or read.
